Triptophan with magnesium + vitamin B6 is a food supplement based on magnesium, L-tryptophan and vitamin B6. L-tryptophan is an amino acid found in the chains that make up proteins and like any other amino acid, is actively involved in the formation of proteins.
It is obtained from foods such as milk, eggs, fish and nuts. Under normal conditions, the contribution from these foods would be enough, but what happens when we are tired, listless, apathetic or lacking in concentration? That is when we need an extra dose of tryptophan. L-tryptophan is an amino acid which we use to form serotonin, the neurotransmitter that makes us calm and relaxed, and which is responsible for regulating our moods, anger, stress, anxiety, appetite, libido and body temperature, among many other processes. L-tryptophan is also involved in the formation of melatonin, which is the hormone that enables us to have restful sleep. Like vitamin B6, magnesium helps reduce tiredness and fatigue, and contributes to the nervous system’s normal function, to normal psychological function and to normal metabolism of energy. Vitamin B6 also helps regulate hormonal activity and contributes to the normal metabolism of proteins and glycogen, and to the formation of red blood cells.
